After 5 years of tireless effort searching for that elusive sound and never hearing it, I decided to give up the hunt and just quit. My Lynch’s box call bounced loosely in my cargo pocket of the Vietnam combat fatigues as I made my way back to the truck when by providence the paddle slid across the top of the call and made a perfect yelp. KABAMMMMM! Gobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbble, Gobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbble! That’s it! I heard a turkey.
It seems like the past 25 years have flown by since that day and now fellow hunters listen for my advice at seminars for Primos Hunting Calls. Although the first response from that “Tom” turkey was wonderful, it fails to compare to the call of Salvation. Have you heard that call from the Creator of heaven and earth? It is the most important adventure of your earthly life for it determines how you will spend eternity.
In order to hear the call we must first listen to that still, small voice that says “God is able no matter the size of your problem.” Second, we must change direction from the path of loneliness and spiritual desolation in order to follow the trail that leads to Jesus and heaven. Finally, we realize we have a fully capable guide and friend that will never leave you but you must accept his free service.
Let’s ask together: Dear Jesus, I confess I am in need of your call of Salvation. I have turned from my past and commit to follow you as my personal guide and savior. I know that you came to earth to forgive me and save all people from darkness. Please come into my heart and shine through me. Thank you for accepting me just as I am right now.
- Amen
